Online Purchase of Student Lunches now Available

The service provided by MYNutrikids will cost $1.75 per transaction but for every twenty lunches purchased you will be credited one free lunch. This means that at minimum, you will be SAVING $1.75.

CANDY SALE INFORMATION FOR 8TH GRADE STUDENTS

-The sale begins on Thursday, January 19. Students will be able to check out candy after school in Room 6.                           

-Students may check out candy on checkout days only. Each case of candy must be paid at the time of checkout ($50.00 per case).

-Students are financially responsible for all candy checked out. Candy can be paid for in cash or by check, made payable to Fulton 8th Grade.

-Students may NOT return unsold candy. Students should check out only what they know they can sell.

-Candy will be available for checkout after school on January 23, and January 26. As indicated above, money is due at the time of checkout.

-Each candy bar sells for $1.00. For each case of candy checked out, $25.00, (half the amount of a case), will be credited to your child’s account and applied to the 8th grade costs (Catalina, Disneyland, etc.).

-Participation in this sale is optional. No prizes or points will be given as part of this sale. This is the only fundraiser that is applied to 8th grade fees.

Please Note: Based on very limited interest, only 60 cases of candy were ordered; cases are first come, first served.

Requirements and procedures for selection into Fulton’s Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society

Eligibility and Initial Selection

Candidates must have been in attendance at Fulton Middle School the equivalent of one trimester.

2. The Fulton Middle School minimum standard for scholarship shall be a cumulative scholastic average of at least a 3.6 – 4.0 (on a 4.0 scale). 

Criteria for Membership

3. The selection of each member to the chapter shall be by a majority vote of the Faculty Council. Prior to notification of any candidates, the chapter adviser shall review with the principal the results of the Faculty Council’s deliberations.  The facility’s decisions are final.

4. NASSP shall not and will not review the judgment of the Faculty Council regarding selection of individual members to local chapters.

5. The Faculty Council’s final decision is based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. These decisions are based on grades, the application and the essay

6.  Leadership qualifications are judged on an individual basis and are based on the following aspects: 

  • The student is resourceful in proposing new problems, applying principals, and making suggestions.
  • Demonstrates initiative in promoting school activities
  • Exercises positive influence on peers in upholding school ideals and spirit
  • Contributes ideas that improve the civic life of the school
  • Exemplifies positive attitudes
  • Inspires positive attitudes and behaviors in others
  • Demonstrates academic initiative
  • Demonstrates reliability and dependability
  • Is a leader in the classroom, at work, or in other school or community activities
  • Is dependable in any responsibility accepted

7.  Service qualifications are also judged on an individual basis and are based on the following:

  • Volunteers and provides dependable and well-organized assistance, is gladly available, and is willing to sacrifice to offer assistance
  • Works well with others and is willing to take on difficult or inconspicuous responsibilities
  • Cheerfully and enthusiastically renders any requested service to the school
  • Does committee and staff work without complaint
  • Participates in some activity outside of school  (e.g., Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, religious groups, volunteers services for elderly, poor, or disadvantaged)
  • Shows courtesy by assisting visitors, teachers and other students.

8.  Citizenship requirements:

  • Understands the importance of civic involvement
  • Has a high regard for freedom, justice; respects the U.S. form of government, and respects the laws at the local, state, and federal level
  • Demonstrates mature participation and responsibility through involvement with such activities as scouting, community organizations, and school clubs

9.  All applicants will also be judged on the follow criterion for character:

  • Takes criticism willingly and accepts recommendations
  • Consistently exemplifies desirable qualities of behavior (e.g., cheerfulness, friendliness, poise, stability)
  • Cooperates by complying with school regulations concerning property, programs, office, halls, etc
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of honesty and reliability
  • Regularly shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others
  • Observes instructions and rules, is punctual, and faithful, both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Manifests truthfulness in acknowledging obedience to rules, avoiding cheating in written and Internet work.
  • Shows unwillingness to profit of others mistakes
  • Actively helps rid the school of bad influences or environment
